(+NBT) not saving on signs.

Archives → Problems & bugs → (+NBT) not saving on signs.

When I Ctrl + (pick block key) on a sign, it gives me the sign and says it has the +NBT data; However it does not truly save the words on the sign and will result in a blank sign when I place it down.

I’m not exactly sure if this is a bug or what, because the pick block on other NBT holding items work fine.

They removed getting item NBT data because of entity spam. i.e. getting a chest full of junk and just placing and then destroying those chests. It causes some huge entity lag..

No. It works perfectly fine on chests, dispensers, ect. Just not on signs.

I think you need to shift place signs or something alike, because placing signs always results in getting a text box to write stuff on the sign. Why don’t you look it up on the internets? This is a minecraft bug and not a redstoner bug.

So it seems it is a spigot “feature” to disallow this. Anyway I guess we should close this thread as it isn’t a problem specific to just us.
