piSafe

I finally found a use for my rpi, im going to stick it inside a safe with a hard drive and a custom made psu for it,(to use as a backup server and other random things) it will be controled by a microcontroller that will also drive a lcd display showing some basic stats about the rpi like cpu usage and memory free, it will also control the power of rpi and will be able to shut it off from the display menu or turn it on using the already pre existing keypad on the safes door.

i spent the day today making a custom pcb for this so its more properly made, this has screw terminals for the 2 buttons serial communication power and the safes keypad output. and it has a header to plug the lcd into.

Here is the finished pcb layout that i used to etch the pcb

The pcb is already assembled but ill take a picture of it later.
