SOLVED
I am writing an appeal on behalf of snowball666789 because he cannot make a redstoner account without going on the server from which he is banned. Type of ban:Permanent Reason for being banned: Building a swastica with a hitler skin What I have done wrong: Offended Jewish people that could have seen the picture of the swastica or the hitler skin. Why I should be Unbanned: I didn’t mean to insult anyone or mean it in a hatred way, also, I was planning to remove it shortly after. I was not aware of how strict the rules were for building offensive material. “In life there no mistakes, just lessons.” -Vic Johnson
I appreciate the apology but we tend to operate a zero tolerance policy for this sort of behaviour and for good reason. The added fact that the build in question was someway up in the air on a plinth for all to see and done while wearing a Hitler skin leads me to think this was done deliberately to offend or at least to cause a reaction. The fact that Neved123 is vouching for you is a small plus I suppose. My personal opinion is that the ban should stand but I would like to leave this thread open for some more opinions.
Yeah Ion summed my opinion up exactly.
I feel like we should give this guy a chance, after a week tempban, but if you build more offensive builds - instant-permban…
I built a giant penis and it was a week temp ban. Also I’m Jewish and it doesn’t affect me. Just like I’m Japanese and people talking about the Atom Bomb just I don’t care.
Well I’m not sure what making a penis has to do with this, equally the fact that not everyone finds something offensive doesn’t make it OK. I think regardless of our personal feelings, we should retain a strong stance against anything racist, sexist, homophobic or ethnically offensive. This is a multi-cultural community and we should encourage people to respect that and behave accordingly.
All that being said, it seems snowball does at least acknowledge it was wrong to do this. A week temp-ban feels too little to me. Maybe reducing from perm-ban to 2 weeks would be a middle ground and as Nemes said any further offenses of this nature would result in a perm-ban. Will leave this thread open to get more opinions before making a final decision on this.
I have spoken to multiple members of staff and reached a decision. You will be banned for 7 days from the time of this post (making the total ban ~10 days). Any major rule break in the future will be met with extreme prejudice so take this time to read the rules and amend your behaviour as necessary.
