Weird Issue With The Comparator

ArchivesProblems & bugs → Weird Issue With The Comparator

DUPLICATE

I thought I’d be a helping hand ‘of sorts’ xD

Anyways me and Sidney discovered something unusual with comparators. We found out ‘without being added to a plot’ you can change the states of a comparator without having to be added to a plot. Now I don’t know how serious this is but with complicated circuitry I can tell that this can mess a few things up if fiddled with.

MintyEdit: Closed and Archived because it’s now in Everything Wrong with PlotMe

Did you also notice you can do that with daylight sensors?
It has been a bug since ages ‘_’
I believe you can also throw items in hoppers and change repeaters
@Doomblah you can throw items into hoppers but you can’t change repeaters.
Don’t forget droppers, dispensers,& trapped chests. I kinda don’t want these to be fixed as most people intend for you to use the containers in item based systems.
Or perhaps we can enable a command like /p set (redstone things) so ppls could take a peek c;
What Mikey said but like ds for comparators etc.

If thats not cool enough, lets try a new one

1.stare at a redstone thing 2./enable 3.Done

To disable

1.stare at the enabled redstone thing 2./disable 3.Done

It’s just PlotMe being shit again. Next time I’d suggest posting it in the hidden section though cause it’s potentionally harmful (look at my first plot, if you change a single of the around 200 comparators I used there then the whole thing will break…). This should be resolved when we finally get around to change to a different plot plugin or making our own :)

I think it would be a good idea to allow people to look into chests, hoppers, droppers, etc. and allow them to see what is inside of them, however, they couldn’t take anything out or put anything in, kind of like in spectator mode, mainly because it’s nice to know how many items are in a counter, etc.

This should be fixed by the next update of redstoner-utils. I wrote some simple code and it does still load the misc module, though I’m unable to test on my local server because I have nothing to disallow building.

EDIT: here’s what I added if you’re interested :) github link

I’m pretty sure that you can’t look in chests… Correct me if I’m wrong
You cant look into chests but all the other containers can be looked into. So yes, someone can empty out your hopper timer.
Also should be fixed when we finally replace PlotMe with our custom land management plugin Parcels I would love to see that implemented when we actually update to 1.9, but there is still a number of things to be tweaked.
you can also mess around with armor stands. . .
Kinda of a necropost mate
Kinda of minimodding mate
@ABakedCookie That’s hypocrite lel

Yeah stop this. The original reply was ok but then the following three were useless stuff not contributing at all.

Stop it or I lock it

Has any progress with Parcels, been done.
Parcels is finished for 1.10 but not 1.8 for some reason…

If I can request a feature in Parcels:

The ability to separate plots in quarters. There is every once in a while there is this one plot everyone wants to be near, but Ruth redstoner can only go so far. Examples: LogalNet StoneNet, ect. This request most likely will be denied.
