Why I should be unbanned

I was banned for a week because a guest was asking, as a joke, about something about porn websites. I answered, also as a joke, with the name of one of these websites. I was then banned for an entire week for linking an 18+ website. I feel like this is a bit overkill, especially because there is no specific rule on 18+ websites. I do not know if the moderator was aware of the context of the link, and I understand that if it was random it might deserve a kick. But I do not think a 7 day ban without any warning is at all necessary. I try to be an upstanding member of the Redstoner community, and I’m absolutely sorry if this offended anyone, but i believe that a simple “don’t link 18+ content” would have resolved the issue much better.

as far as I know it was a rule against it before (I do not know why it got deleted) so that isn’t a really good reason to why you should be unbanned.

and on the length of the ban, when someone brakes a rule that we can say is severe, as this can be seen as, we usually give a 1 week ban or more.

The last thing is, you play a game that a lot of children plays, so why do you think it is a good idea to post a link to a porn site?

I think you’ll find there is a rule (Rule #3). I also think the ban is justified.

Did every single person receive a week long ban for this? There was at least 3 people who linked one of these websites

It was me giving you the ban and yes the other people doing it also received a 1w tempban for doing so. Even though we are not having a “no swearing rule” or similar, we are still offering our service to younger people that are not legally permitted to view those pages, nor do they want to. Consireding linking a 3rd party page is also advertising and you should know that advertising is not ok I guess even if you didn’t know the specific no 18+ links rule, common sense should have told you not to link 3rd party pages at all. The duration gets justified by the specific rule against it. I see linking porn/illegal content/malware as a severe rulebreak as it can and will be really intruiging to those who click the links (just saying that’s why I dislike link shorteners…).

Considering someone specifically asking you to do it and you having learned your lesson judging from this appeal thread I would be fine with reducing the ban to a 3d ban, but keep in mind that we will remember this nontheless. Shorting the ban doesn’t make the cause any less severe. Read the rules again carefully and try not to mess this up again. I don’t give a shit about your language but that doesn’t mean that we can’t keep the server a friendly and child-safe place.

Before changing the ban to a shorter amount I would like to talk to llama again as she was also around and I don’t wanna make this decision alone, I’ll mark this correspondingly once I managed to get her opinion on this.
