I get that it’s supposed to be funny because there is an i in denial, but it’s not very good as one wouldn’t be “selfish” about being in denial, so nobody would say “there’s no i in denial.” It’s hard to make one of these jokes out of context.

The joke is that the person saying it is denying it.
