I am confused. How is the server up when bukkit & spigot had a dmca takedown is it a bug we are taking advantage of or what?

We are using a spigot version we had before the takedown, along with the spigot update packages. Spigot is providing updates, and not the entire thing, which isn’t against the law, they are only doing it for the latest build they ever released.
