I have a feeling they are bots, like JackFrost2140. I mean, who would have such a generic name as “nik”? Isn’t that username taken? And it’s a very low chance that he is an alt of some guy with a dozen alts who loves to spam servers.

A 100% proof that they are bots would be if one of their messages comes up as <name> Hey there! instead of name -> Hey there!

EDIT: As @nalaek2004 pointed out, a bot would need access to the UUID, So they might also be server hacks.

@pigman239 what……….. there is no way the message would come up as “”. That is not a bot proof.

Though, I’m sure at 100% this was done by a bot. A program, rather.

Honestly, just detecting spam and issuing a tempban should be fine. It won’t solve it forever though. What about just banning the players that we find spamming like this?

@redstone_sheep just check for someone saying the same thing repeatidly in a SHORT space of time. not a FOREVER space of time like every other server does it.

Well crap. I use some of these accounts as I recently obtained them from various sources and a friend I know. I have 90% of these accounts' credentials, and I use them occasionally :/

I can assure you, none of this was caused by me.

I can give a mod/admin my file of all the credentials or just the usernames so you can ban the accounts individually if it helps.

@chloetherat So do you own these accounts or not? If you own them, then surely we should hold you responsible for this? If you don’t own them, then why do you have the credentials? If you take something that you don’t own isn’t that called theft?

and because hackerthomas is so curious of things, I got the accs from various youtube vids and stuff.

@hackerthomas please fully understand things before you put out strong judgement. The IPs associated with the spamming were banned and all, and you still think its me just to create drama or whatever. Like I said. I am trying to help.

They are not yours… You are using them without permission… That would be a certain level of theft.

I understand you offering the account details so they could be banned is helpful to the server, but if you don’t understand how what you did in using accounts that clearly aren’t yours and almost definitely were stolen from the legal owner by a hacker isn’t part of the problem then you are deluded. Why should we as a community trust or listen to someone who doesn’t understand the basics about what is right and what is wrong? Receipt of stolen goods is a crime in most countries. Of course you won’t be arrested by the internet police over this but how you think it is OK is beyond me. If instead of using these accounts details when you acquired them, you perhaps informed Mojang, there is every chance the accounts would have been frozen and the hacker couldn’t have used them to spam the server you so love.

Its not theft, it would be using without consent. unless he stole the passwords then its theft

I kind of see these bot accounts coming on at late times, when people are very inactive and no staff would be on.

I suppose that staff should have some of their people to make little checks at inactive times just to monitor server activity for at least 5-15 minutes

Or build a bot that detects and terminates these noob bots.

Yeah. No. I was trying to help and yes, I do understand right and wrong. I don’t understand why you are acting like I am so malicious with them. I use them as camera accounts, and not many people ever see them. Please open a new thread if you wish to report me for this. This current thread is not the place to have an argument.

To end this, I have sent an email to mojang support. Probs not the right place lol. I will no longer use the accounts not have I ever used the far beyond LAN worlds. I do indeed love the server and am really upset you’re turning people against me as you say I can’t be trusted when I try so hard to protect my reputation here. Looks like I really failed by this. I am sorry and I (like I was saying) use these accounts primarily for recording.

EDIT: please stop dragging this problem into other threads as well, such as my website feature request. Lol you also said my logic wasn’t trustable because I did this. I’d suppose conscience and logic are the same now.

I have a new theory regarding @G0DlIkEDM: He’s another guy who didn’t wanna pay for an account. Also, since there’s a different email, he’ll never respond.

Also, guys, those accounts were MADE by someone just for the purpose that other people could use them. Not theft..
